This coin, with a face value of 1 chiao, was issued in 1934. It is struck in cupronickel, giving it a silver color. It weighs 5 grams and its diameter measures 23 millimeters.
The obverse of the coin features a stylized lotus flower. Chinese characters surround this floral motif, arranged in a semicircle above and in a line below.
The reverse of the coin depicts two facing dragons, between which the face value is inscribed. A pearl is visible above this representation. The coin was issued by Manchukuo, a Japanese puppet state in China, during the reign of Emperor Puyi. It is one of the common coins of that era, issued during years 2 and 3 of the Chinese Datong calendar (1933-1934). Its value is 10 fen, equivalent to 0.1 jiao. The currency used was the Yuan, in use from 1934 to 1945. The coin is round in shape.
