This coin is a 1 Chiao, issued in 1942, corresponding to year 9 of Puyi's reign. It was struck in aluminum and is one of the common coins of Manchukuo, a Japanese puppet state in China.
The coin weighs 1.7 grams and has a diameter of 23 millimeters. Its shape is round. The face value of the coin is 1 jiao, equivalent to 10 fen, with 10 jiao representing 1 yuan. The currency used at the time was the Yuan, in effect from 1934 to 1945.
The obverse of the coin features a legend arranged around the face value, with the inscription "Fundo" on the outline of the weight. The reverse features the imperial seal, positioned above the value, all framed by a crown formed of rice stalks.
The issue of these coins extended from year 7 to year 10 of the Chinese Kangde calendar, corresponding to the years 1940 to 1943. The reigning emperor during this period was Puyi, whose reign extended from 1932 to 1945.
