The 2023 issue of the 25,000 Iraqi Dinar banknote features distinct visual characteristics on both sides.
The obverse prominently displays an image of an Iraqi peasant woman. The obverse background features intricate geometric patterns and traditional decorative elements, designed to enhance the banknote's security and make counterfeiting more difficult. The face value, "25000", is displayed in Arabic numerals and in letters in the local language. Official signatures from officials of the Central Bank of Iraq are also present, attesting to the banknote's authenticity.
The reverse side of the banknote depicts an image of King Hammurabi, an important historical figure from ancient Mesopotamia. The Code of Hammurabi, one of the oldest known sets of written laws, is associated with this king. This representation highlights the historical and cultural heritage of Iraq. Like the obverse, the reverse incorporates geometric patterns and advanced security features. The face value is also repeated on the reverse in Arabic numerals and in English.
This banknote is made from special banknote paper, designed to withstand wear and frequent handling. Additional security features, such as watermarks, embedded security threads, and special inks, are incorporated into the paper to protect against counterfeiting. The combination of these visual and security elements makes this banknote an identifiable and secure means of payment in Iraq.
