The obverse of the banknote features a portrait of Miguel García Granados. He was President of Guatemala from June 30, 1871, to June 4, 1873. The inscriptions are in Latin script and Braille.
On the reverse, a scene depicts a session of the National Legislative Assembly of 1872. The texts are written in Latin and Mayan languages.
