This coin is a 2-pound silver coin, minted in Great Britain. It is dated 2026 and belongs to the Britannia silver series. The coin is made of 999? pure silver and weighs 31.21 grams. Its diameter is 38.61 mm and its thickness is 3 mm.
The obverse of the coin features an uncrowned portrait of King Charles III, facing left. A legend surrounds the portrait, with the full inscription "Charles III Dei Gratia Rex Fidei Defensor". The portrait is designed by Martin Jennings.
The reverse of the coin depicts an image of Britannia standing, holding a trident in her right hand. She wears a shield adorned with the Union flag and holds an olive branch in her left hand. A security padlock is also present on the reverse. The reverse design is the work of Philip Nathan.
The edge of the coin is milled. The coin is minted by the Royal Mint and incorporates several security features: a latent image that alternates between a padlock and Britannia's trident, a surface animation creating a shimmering wave effect, micro-text serving both as decoration and protection, and tincture lines accentuating Britannia's shield bearing the Union flag.
It is worth noting that in 2025, a mint mark was added to coins made from silver sourced from the SS Tilawa, a ship sunk in 1942. This circular mark depicts an anchor surmounted by the inscription "S.S. TILAWA" and the numbers "19" and "42" of the date of the sinking, divided by the shank of the anchor.
