The obverse of the coin features an uncrowned head of King Charles III, facing left. A Latin legend surrounds the portrait, reading "CHARLES · III · KING OF GIBRALTAR · TWO PENCE". The date of issue, "· 2023 ·", is inscribed below the portrait. The engraver of this side is Raphael David Maklouf.
The reverse of the coin depicts Windsor Castle. A crown is positioned at the top and another at the bottom of the central motif. The face value of the coin is 2 pence, representing 0.02 Gibraltar pounds, which is equivalent to about 0.023 euros. The pound is the decimal currency used since 1971.
