This numismatic set contains a complete series of eight euro coins issued by Germany in 2003, minted by the G mint.
The set includes all eight common denominations: 1 cent, 2 cents, 5 cents, 10 cents, 20 cents, 50 cents, 1 euro, and 2 euros. Each coin features the standard design characteristics for euro coins, with a common face for all countries in the Eurozone and a national face specific to Germany.
The 1, 2, and 5 cent coins are made of copper-plated steel. They feature an oak branch, a motif taken from the old German pfennigs. The 10, 20, and 50 cent coins are made of Nordic gold, an alloy of copper, aluminum, zinc, and tin. They depict the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, a symbol of German reunification.
The 1 and 2 euro coins are bimetallic. The 1 euro coin shows the federal eagle, an emblem of German sovereignty, while the 2 euro coin features the same federal eagle but on a different background and also includes a representation of the borders of Europe.
The set is specially designed for the presentation and conservation of the coins, protecting them from handling and external elements. The mint mark "G" indicates that the coins were produced at the Karlsruhe mint.
