  Erected in the 12th century under the impulse of Bishop Maurice de Sully, the Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral is a jewel of Gothic architecture that has dominated the Île de la Cité for more than eight centuries. This architectural masterpiece, characterized by its slender flying buttresses and flamboyant rose windows, testifies to the know-how of medieval builders and has been the scene of many major historical events, such as the coronation of Napoleon Bonaparte.
 The Monnaie de Paris honors the reopening of Notre-Dame de Paris to the public this year by striking a 2? commemorative coin, engraving for eternity the lines of this jewel of Gothic art.
 The face of this coin represents a three-dimensional rendering of the cathedral's west facade, with its rose window emerging between the two towers. The official logo of Notre-Dame de Paris also appears against the listel. 

Edge: reeded and inscribed with a 2 followed by two stars, repeated six times, alternating right side up and upside down.
