Description

Obverse: The front side of the coin features the famous scene of Dupré's Hercules. Hercules, in the center, is standing draped in a lion's skin. To his right, Liberty is depicted as a woman holding a pike topped with a Phrygian cap. To his left, Equality, another woman, holds a balance scale. The legend around the scene reads "RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE".

Reverse: The reverse of the coin displays a wreath composed of oak and laurel branches. At the center of this wreath is the nominal value "50 FRANCS" and the year of issue. Around the wreath, the words "LIBERTÉ ÉGALITÉ FRATERNITÉ" can be read.
