The 10 Francs Hercules coin, struck in silver, is a French coin issued in 1973. Its face value is 10 francs. The total weight of the coin is 25 grams and its diameter measures 37 millimeters.
The obverse of the coin features a composite crown. It includes the inscription "RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE" in capital letters, as well as the face value "10 FRANCS" and the year of issue "1973". The engravers responsible for the design of this obverse are the Atelier de Gravure (A.G.M.M.) and Augustin Dupré.
The reverse of the coin depicts Hercules, naked and standing facing forward, wearing the lion skin. He unites Liberty, standing on the left and holding a pike topped with a Phrygian cap, and Equality, located on the right and holding a level. Dupré's signature in cursive script is visible in the exergue. The republican motto "LIBERTÉ ÉGALITÉ FRATERNITÉ" is inscribed in capital letters around the edge of the reverse.
This coin is struck in silver. The condition of the coin is BU (Brilliant Uncirculated), indicating a coin in perfect condition, never circulated and retaining its original luster.
