Edge: striated and inscribed with a 2 followed by two stars, repeated six times, alternating obverse and reverse.
The design on the face features a graphically drawn Marianne, a modern embodiment of the Republic. She wears the Phrygian cap. On the right, the cockade, drawn in the style of a sketch, surmounts the wording "RF". The year is inscribed in the centre of the coin. On the left-hand side of the face is a stanza from the work of the French poet Paul Eluard Liberté, a reference to the motto of the Republic. The different words are attached to this extract.
