This French collector's coin, minted in 1994, commemorates the 50th anniversary of the D-Day landings and the liberation of France, as well as the Élysée Treaty signed in 1963. It is made of silver, with a fineness of 900?.
The coin has a nominal value of 100 francs. It weighs 22.2 grams and has a diameter of 37 millimeters. Its mintage is limited to 7860 copies. It is presented without box or certificate and is classified as a BU (Brilliant Uncirculated) strike.
The obverse of the coin features the facing busts of General Charles de Gaulle and Konrad Adenauer in the center. The inscription "DE GAULLE ADENAUER" is arranged on two lines above the busts. The circular legend reads "RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE", and the year "1994" is discreetly placed between the collars of the two figures.
The reverse of the coin illustrates a handshake between General de Gaulle and Konrad Adenauer, surrounded by the twelve stars of Europe. The names of the two countries that signed the Franco-German friendship treaty, "FRANCE" and "ALLEMAGNE", appear above the scene, accompanied by the year of the signing, "1963". The face value "100 F" is inscribed under the hands of the leaders.
