The 1954 Guiraud 10 Francs coin is a French coin with a nominal value of 10 francs. It is struck in aluminum bronze, which gives it a specific color and composition.
The obverse of the coin features a head of Marianne facing left. Marianne wears the Phrygian cap, a symbol of the French Revolution, adorned with an olive branch and a cockade. The engraver's signature, G.GUIRAUD, is visible on this side. The legend "REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE" is inscribed in capital letters around the portrait.
The reverse of the coin depicts a rooster standing, facing left, resting on an olive branch. The face value, "10 FRANCS", is clearly indicated. The republican motto "LIBERTE EGALITE FRATERNITE" is also inscribed on this side. The year of issue, "1951", is visible under the rooster, with the mint mark "B" positioned below the date, if present. The engraver of this side is also Georges Guiraud.
The coin weighs 3 grams and has a diameter of 20 millimeters. The edge of the coin is smooth.
Georges Guiraud is the artist who designed the obverse and reverse motifs of this coin.
