This is a French collector's coin with a face value of 10 euros, struck in 999 silver. This coin commemorates the passing of the torch between the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics and the French Alps 2030 Winter Olympics. The year of issue is 2026. The mintage is limited to 5000 copies.
The coin weighs 22.2 grams and has a diameter of 37 millimeters.
The obverse of the coin depicts the passing of the torch between the two editions of the Winter Olympics. Two athletes are depicted, one Italian on the left and the other French on the right. They are recognizable by their wristbands, bearing the heraldic colors of their respective countries. They are passing a snowflake, a symbol of this passing of the torch. In the background, two alpine mountains can be seen, symbolizing the Winter Games in both countries. The marks of the Monnaie de Paris and Joaquin Jimenez are also engraved on this face.
The reverse of the coin features the Italian flag on the left and the French flag on the right, both represented according to the codes of heraldry. Two mountains of the Alps are also present. The emblem of the city of Milan, involved in the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Games, and that of the city of Nice, participating in the French Alps 2030 Winter Games, are also featured. The face value of the coin and the year of issue are also engraved on this reverse.
