This collector's coin, minted in France in 2026, has a face value of 10 euros. It is made of silver and the mintage is 25,000 copies.
The coin commemorates the Sun King and the Île-de-France region. Its hexagonal design distinguishes it from traditional circular coins.
Weighing 17 grams and measuring 31.82 millimeters in diameter, this coin showcases iconic elements of Île-de-France on its face. The Eiffel Tower, represented in ascending perspective, dominates the composition. The name of the region is inscribed at the level of its first floor. An Art Nouveau-style metro entrance, discreetly located under the arches of the tower, adds a Parisian touch.
To the right of the Eiffel Tower, a majestic stag evokes the vast parks, forests, and wooded areas of the region. Three fleur-de-lis, arranged around the stag, refer to the coat of arms of Île-de-France.
On the other side of the coin, a profile of Louis XIV is depicted, his name discreetly integrated into his hairstyle. An ornamental motif inspired by the gates of the Palace of Versailles, stylized to evoke an allegory of the Sun King, appears under the monarch's portrait. This element establishes a direct link with the architectural heritage of Île-de-France, notably the Palace of Versailles, a legacy of Louis XIV's reign.
The issuing institution and the mintage of this coin are not specified.
