This one-dollar banknote, issued in 1965, belongs to series B and originates from the Eastern Caribbean region. It was a legal means of payment in this geographical area at the time of its issue.
The front of the banknote features several distinctive elements. On the right, there is a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, an emblematic figure of the time and Head of State of the Commonwealth. In the center, a representation of a flying fish adds a local and maritime touch. A map, positioned on the left, evokes the geographical context of the Eastern Caribbean.
The following inscriptions appear on the obverse: "EAST CARIBBEAN CURRENCY AUTHORITY," designating the issuing monetary authority; "THESE NOTES ARE LEGAL TENDER FOR THE PAYMENT OF ANY AMOUNT," affirming the legal status of the note for any payment; and finally, the face value "ONE DOLLAR."
The reverse of the banknote depicts a coastline with rocks and trees, illustrating a typical landscape of the region. The integrated watermark also features Queen Elizabeth II, reinforcing the authenticity of the banknote.
In terms of dimensions, the banknote measures 145 millimeters in length and 69 millimeters in width. These physical characteristics allow for easy identification and handling.
