The 10 Djibouti francs banknote, issued in 1946, is a specimen from the Bank of Indochina. This banknote, measuring 98 x 65 mm, features a multicolor front and back print, with an also multicolor underprint. The serial numbers are printed in black.
The front of the banknote highlights a man's head turned to the right, located on the left of the banknote. The French inscriptions include "Banque de l'Indochine", "Dix Francs", and "Djibouti", as well as the mentions "Le Président" and "Le Directeur Général". The artists' names, R. POUGHEON FEC. and G. REGNIER SC., are also present, indicating the creators of the drawing and engraving. The engraving was done by Georges Régnier, based on a drawing by Robert Poughéon.
The back of the banknote depicts a camel caravan moving to the left. The text is printed in French, Arabic and Amharic. The face value "10" is found there, as well as a legal warning: "The counterfeiter will be punished with forced labor for life". The artists' names, R. POUGHEON FEC. and A. CHAPON SC., also appear on the back, indicating that the drawing is by Robert Poughéon and the engraving by Auguste Chapon.
The watermark of this banknote represents the head of Mercury. The printer is the Banque de France.
