This 10 franc banknote, issued in Djibouti in 1946, features a complex multicolored print, enhanced by a multicolored underprint and black serial numbers. The front of the banknote features a portrait of a young man facing right. French inscriptions include "BANQUE DE L'INDO-CHINE", "DIX FRANCS", and "DJIBOUTI", accompanied by the mentions "LE PRÉSIDENT" and "LE DIRECTEUR GÉNÉRAL". The signatures of R. POUGHEON (FEC.) and G. REGNIER (SC.) indicate the artists involved in its creation.
The back of the banknote depicts a camel caravan moving to the left, also printed in multicolored with a matching underprint. Texts in French, Arabic, and Amharic appear on this side. The warning "LE CONTREFACTEUR SERA PUNI DES TRAVAUX FORCÉS A PÉRPÉTUITE" is clearly stated. The names of R. POUGHEON (FEC.) and A. CHAPON (SC.) are present, identifying the engravers responsible for this part of the design.
The watermark reveals a Mercury head. The dimensions of the banknote are 98 × 65 mm. The printing was done by the Banque de France. Robert Poughéon is credited as the main designer of both sides, while Georges Régnier and Auguste Chapon respectively engraved the front and back.
