This Canadian commemorative coin with a face value of one dollar was issued in 2025. It is made of steel and weighs 6.27 grams, with a diameter of 26.5 millimeters. This coin highlights the 150th anniversary of the Supreme Court of Canada.
The obverse of the coin features a bust of King Charles III, aged 74, facing left. He is depicted wearing a suit and tie. Around the bust is the inscription "CHARLES III D·G·REX" followed by the year of issue "2025" and the initials "SR". The full legend means "Charles III King by the Grace of God". The portrait is the work of the designer Steven Rosati.
The reverse of the coin features the Supreme Court of Canada building, an important institution in the country. In the foreground is the commemorative logo of the Court's 150th anniversary. The intricate details of the design aim to illustrate the history of the Court and its role in upholding the rule of law, as well as the services it provides to the Canadian people. The inscriptions include the country's name "CANADA", the face value "DOLLAR", as well as the bilingual inscriptions "SUPREME COURT OF CANADA" and "COUR SUPRÊME DU CANADA". There is also the mention of the anniversary "150" and the commemorative years "1875 - 2025" as well as the initials "SP". The designer of this side of the coin is Silvia Pecota.
