This banknote was issued by Burundi in 2008. It has a face value of 2000 Burundian francs. It belongs to the AH series.
The front of the note features the national coat of arms of Burundi. These arms are composed of a shield bearing the head of a lion, surmounted by three crossed spears. The national motto, "Unité, Travail, Progrès" (Unity, Work, Progress), is inscribed on a Listel below the shield. There is also a portrait of Louis Rwagasore, an important political figure in Burundi, who served as Prime Minister.
On the back of the note, there is a representation of a landscape including a lake and a hydroelectric dam. This illustration highlights the country's natural resources and energy infrastructure. The face value of the note is indicated in both upper corners, as well as in numbers in the lower left corner.
The dominant colors of the note are green and brown, with shades of blue and yellow. The note incorporates security features such as a watermark and fluorescent fibers visible under ultraviolet light, in order to prevent counterfeiting. The dimensions of the note are 145 mm x 72 mm.
