The 5 Cruzeiros banknote, issued in Brazil in 1964, is part of the Estampa 2 series, specifically the 4675A series. It is a banknote with a face value of five cruzeiros.
The obverse of the banknote features a sepia dominant color over a polychrome background, created using chalcography and offset techniques. In the center is a portrait of José Maria da Silva Paranhos, known as Barão do Rio Branco, integrated into an ornamental frame. The number "5" is present on either side of the portrait. The inscriptions include: "REPÚBLICA DOS ESTADOS UNIDOS DO BRASIL", "TESOURO NACIONAL", "BARÃO DO RIO BRANCO", mentions of the functions of Director, Caixa de Amortização, and Minister da Fazenda. The value "CINCO CRUZEIROS" is also mentioned, accompanied by the mention "VALOR LEGAL". The printer, "THOMAS DE LA RUE & COMPANY, LIMITED, LONDON", is also indicated.
The reverse of the banknote is done in sepia by chalcography. The central pictorial representation is that of the "Conquista do Amazonas", a work by the painter Antonio Parreiras.
The banknote's dimensions are 157 mm in length and 67 mm in width.
