This banknote was issued by the Bank of Zambia in 1992. It has a face value of 100 kwacha. Its dimensions are 140 mm in length and 70 mm in width.
The front of the banknote is mainly deep purple, printed on a multicolored background. There is an African fish eagle depicted on the right side. A palm tree is visible in the center of the banknote. The seal of the Zambian coat of arms, along with the date of issue, is located in the lower left. The main inscription reads "BANK OF ZAMBIA" followed by the promise to pay the bearer "ONE HUNDRED KWACHA". The face value designation is also present in the upper left in the form "K100".
The back of the banknote features a water buffalo head facing left. Victoria Falls are depicted in the center, and a statue named "Chainbreaker" is visible in the center right. The face value "ONE HUNDRED KWACHA" is inscribed in words, as well as the mention "BANK OF ZAMBIA". The inscription "K100" is repeated in the upper left and lower right.
The banknote's watermark depicts an African fish and an eagle's head. The banknote is printed by De La Rue.
