This banknote is issued by the Bank of Zambia and has a face value of 10 kwacha. It dates from 1989 and belongs to the AC series.
The front of the note features a portrait of President Kenneth Kaunda. The Latin inscriptions include the name of the issuing bank, "BANK OF ZAMBIA", as well as the promise to pay the bearer on demand, "I PROMISE TO PAY TO THE BEARER ON DEMAND". The face value "TEN KWACHA" is also mentioned, followed by the designation "FOR THE BANK OF ZAMBIA".
The reverse features a representation of the Freedom Monument located in Lusaka, accompanied by a lion and the Ministry of Defence building, also located in Lusaka. The banknote's watermark reproduces the portrait of President Kenneth Kaunda.
The dimensions of this banknote are 137 millimeters in length and 70 millimeters in width. It is a testament to the monetary history of Zambia and the period when President Kenneth Kaunda was in office.
