Banknote Zambia 10 Kwacha - Kabwelume Falls - 2024 - Serial AC or AE

The 10 Zambian Kwacha banknote, issued in 2024, is available in two distinct series: AC and AE. This banknote features detailed visual characteristics on both the obverse and reverse.

On the obverse, the banknote is printed in green and red, with inscriptions in English. It features the Bank of Zambia logo, as well as a floral pattern used as a registration device. A representation of the Kariba Dam on the Zambezi River is also present, as is a fish eagle in flight. A map of Zambia, made of bronze-colored OVI (Optically Variable Ink), and the Zambian coat of arms complete this side of the note. A windowed security thread, bearing the demetalized logo of the Bank of Zambia and the value "10", is integrated into the paper. Inscriptions include the name of the bank, a promise to pay the bearer, and the nominal value in kwacha.

The reverse of the banknote repeats the green and red colors, with texts in English and serial numbers in black. The iconography on this side highlights natural elements of Zambia, such as Zambezi teak and a pair of pangolins. The Kabwelume Falls are also represented, as well as a floral pattern serving as a registration device. The inscriptions mention again the Bank of Zambia, the national motto "One Zambia One Nation", and the name of the Kabwelume Falls. The nominal value in kwacha is also repeated.

The banknote's watermark represents a fish eagle's head, accompanied by the electrotype "10" and an additional fish eagle. The banknote, measuring 118 × 69 mm, is printed by Giesecke+Devrient, a company based in Leipzig, Germany.
