This banknote is issued by the Central Bank of West African States. It has a face value of 5000 francs. This note was issued between 1992 and 2003, identified by the letter "A" and originating from Côte d'Ivoire.
On the front of this note, we observe the portrait of an African woman. In the background, an industrial motif evokes a factory. The inscriptions in Latin identify the issuing institution, "Banque Centrale des États de l'Afrique de l'Ouest", as well as the face value of the note, expressed in words, "cinq mille francs", and in numbers "5000". A unique serial number is also present.
The back of the note depicts a market scene where pottery is being sold. This illustration highlights an aspect of local commerce and craftsmanship.
