This banknote, with a face value of 1 dong, was issued by South Vietnam in 1956. It belongs to Series V.1. The front of the banknote features a dominant emerald green and dark pink print, with a serial number in black.
On the right side of the front, there is a representation of the Hùng King Temple. A watermark is visible on the left. The signature is affixed to the center of the banknote. Ornamental guilloche patterns and rosettes indicating the denomination are also present. The serial number is divided into two parts and located in the lower part of the banknote.
The back of the banknote uses the same emerald green and dark pink colors in its printing. The entrance to the Vietnam History Museum is illustrated on the left, while a watermark is positioned on the right. Ornamental guilloche patterns and denomination rosettes complete the design of the back.
The dimensions of this banknote are 123 mm in length and 78 mm in width. The Hùng King Temple depicted on the banknote is an important historical site in Vietnam. The Vietnam History Museum, for its part, houses a collection of artifacts tracing the country's history.
