Description

This banknote, with a nominal value of 5 dongs, was issued in 1946 by Vietnam. It belongs to the "Ho Chi Minh - Blacksmith" series.

The obverse of the banknote features a blacksmith in the foreground, a symbol of manual labor and industry. In the background, factories are visible, evoking the industrial development of the country. The inscriptions in Latin script read "VI?T NAM DÂN CH? C?NG HOÀ" (Democratic Republic of Vietnam) and "GI?Y B?C VI?T-NAM" (Banknote of Vietnam). The nominal value "N?M ??NG" (Five Dongs) is also mentioned.

The reverse of the banknote features H? Chí Minh, an iconic figure of Vietnam, also with factories in the background, emphasizing the importance of industrialization for the country. The nominal value "5" is repeated, accompanied by the mention "N?m Ä?ng".

This banknote bears witness to a particular historical period of Vietnam, marked by the desire for economic development and the assertion of national identity. The choice of symbols represented, such as the blacksmith, the factories and H? Chí Minh, reflects the values and aspirations of the country at that time. The use of Latin script for the inscriptions indicates a cultural and administrative influence of the time.
