A representation of Saint George on horseback slaying the dragon adorns the left side. GEO.V.ch.XIV." and "£1". The artist Edgar Bertram MacKennal is credited as the engraver of this banknote.
On the reverse, the banknote depicts the Palace of Westminster. This building houses the House of Commons and the House of Lords of the British government.
