This one pound sterling note comes from the United Kingdom and was issued between 1917 and 1923.
The obverse of the note is brown and green. It features a portrait of King George V on the right. On the left, there is a depiction of Saint George on horseback, slaying a dragon. The inscriptions on this side include "UNITED KINGDOM OF GREAT BRITAIN AND IRELAND", "CURRENCY NOTES ARE LEGAL TENDER FOR THE PAYMENT OF ANY AMOUNT", and "ONE POUND". It also features the mention "ISSUED BY THE LORDS COMMISSIONERS OF HIS MAJESTY'S TREASURY UNDER THE AUTHORITY OF ACT OF PARLIAMENT IV. & V. GEO.V.ch.XIV." and the face value "£1".
The reverse of the note depicts the Palace of Westminster, which houses the House of Commons and the House of Lords of the British government.
