The 200 Transnistrian ruble banknote, issued in 1993, is a specimen from the A series. This banknote is distinguished by its visual characteristics and historical references.
The obverse of the banknote features an equestrian monument dedicated to Alexander Vasilyevich Suvorov, a Russian general of the 18th century and founder of Tiraspol, the capital of Transnistria. The inscriptions in Cyrillic indicate the name of the country, "?????????????" (Transnistria), as well as the face value of the banknote, "200 ??????" (200 rubles). There are also the denominations of the issuing bank in three languages: Romanian (with the Cyrillic alphabet), Russian and Ukrainian: "????? ????????", "??????????????? ????", and "???????????????? ????".
The reverse of the banknote depicts the Parliament building of Tiraspol, a symbol of the legislative power of the region. The watermark integrated into the paper of the banknote features a pattern of vertical square waves, alternating light and dark areas, adding a visual security measure.
The dimensions of the banknote are 125 mm in length and 57 mm in width. The combination of these graphic and textual elements provides an overview of the symbols and values important to Transnistria at the time of the issuance of this banknote.
