This banknote, with a face value of 2½ guilders, was issued in Suriname in 1978. It belongs to Series X/3.
The obverse of the banknote features a gray-blue tanager, a colorful bird from the region. The name of the issuing bank is printed at the top of the banknote. The face value, "2½", is visible in several places. The signature of the issuing officials is also present.
On the reverse, there is a representation of the Afobaka Dam, an important infrastructure in Suriname. A lizard is also depicted. The face value is mentioned again. The national emblem of Suriname is also featured on the banknote.
This 2½ guilder banknote is a testament to the monetary history of Suriname and its biodiversity.
