Banknote South Africa 10 Rand - Nelson Mandela - Black Rhinoceros - 2023 - AD-A Series

The 10 Rand banknote, issued by South Africa in 2023, is part of the AD-A series. This commemorative banknote highlights Nelson Mandela and African wildlife, particularly the black rhinoceros.

On the obverse, the banknote features a dominant green print. The portrait of Nelson Mandela (Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela) is positioned on the right. A pie chart representing the South African flag is visible in the background, behind the portrait of Mandela. The coat of arms of South Africa is located at the top left of the banknote. A black rhinoceros is depicted with metallic paint at the bottom right. The inscription "GOVERNOR OF THE SOUTH AFRICAN RESERVE BANK 10 RAND" is printed in Latin script.

The reverse of the banknote is printed in green and various colors. It illustrates an adult black rhinoceros accompanied by its calf (Diceros bicornis). The inscriptions include "10 RAND", "SOUTH AFRICAN RESERVE BANK" and "LIBHANGESILULU LENINGIZIMU AFRICA 10", also in Latin script.

The banknote incorporates a watermark depicting a black rhinoceros head, as well as an electrotype displaying the denomination "10". The banknote's dimensions are 129 mm in length and 70 mm in width.
