The 1000 Tolarjev banknote from Slovenia, issued on January 15, 2003, pays tribute to France Pre?eren, an iconic figure in Slovenian poetry. This banknote is part of a specific series, identified by the BM series.
The front of the banknote is dominated by a green and yellow print, highlighting a black and white portrait of France Pre?eren. The portrait, created by hand engraving, is the central motif. A profile silhouette, filled with micro-writing, enriches the image. A facsimile of France Pre?eren's signature is intaglio printed in the upper left part of the banknote. The integrated watermark also represents the face of France Pre?eren.
The inscriptions on the front include "BANKA SLOVENIJE" in capital letters, the face value "1000" and "TISO? TOLARJEV". The name and dates of France Pre?eren (1800-1849) are also mentioned.
The back of the banknote features a multicolored print in pink and blue tones. A stylized writing feather is located in the upper left part, accompanied by the word "Prijatli" (Friends) written in the poet's hand, printed in intaglio. In the middle of the back, a portion of the text of "The Toast", Pre?eren's famous work, is reproduced.
The banknote measures 156 mm in length and 78 mm in width. The script used on the banknote is Latin.
