This commemorative 2 dollar coin, struck in fine silver, is issued by the island of Niue in 2022. It weighs 31.1 grams and has a diameter of 40 millimeters. The coin is dedicated to the Year of the Tiger, according to the Chinese lunar calendar.
The obverse of the coin features a bust of Elizabeth II facing right. The year of issue, 2022, is inscribed below the bust. A Latin legend runs along the upper edge of the coin, bearing the inscription "ELIZABETH II NIUE TWO DOLLARS". The initials "IRB" of the designer Ian Rank-Broadley are also present on this side.
The reverse of the coin depicts a tiger. Chinese characters, meaning "tiger", also appear on this face. The weight and purity of the silver are also indicated: "1 oz 999 FINE SILVER".
The edge of the coin is reeded. The coin was minted at the New Zealand Mint (Te Kamupene Whakanao o Aotearoa) located in Auckland.
