Description

The 500 Ruble banknote issued in Russia in 1992 features distinct visual characteristics on both sides.

On the obverse, the banknote displays a portrait of Vladimir Lenin, an iconic figure in Russian history, positioned on the left. In the center, the coat of arms of the USSR is represented, reflecting the political context of the time. The inscriptions, written in Cyrillic script, read "????? ??????????????? ???? ????" (Banknote of the State Bank of the USSR) and "??????? ??????" (Five hundred rubles), specifying the face value of the banknote and the issuing institution.

The reverse features a view of the Moscow Kremlin, an emblematic architectural complex of Russia, accompanied by guilloche patterns in filigree, adding an aesthetic and security dimension to the banknote. The integrated watermark depicts stars, a recurring motif in Soviet iconography.

This banknote, with a face value of 500 rubles, measures 144 mm in length and 70 mm in width. It is a testament to the post-Soviet transition period in Russia, marked by significant political and economic changes.

This 1992 Russian banknote, with its design reflecting the history and ideology of its time, represents a collectible item for numismatists and those interested in Russian history.
