This banknote was issued by Romania in the year 2000. It has a face value of 10,000 lei. The banknote is made of polymer and measures 150 mm long by 67 mm wide.
The front of the banknote features, on the left, the portrait of Nicolae Iorga, Romanian historian and politician. In the center, there is a representation of gentians. The inscriptions in the Latin alphabet include the mention "BANCA NA?IONAL? A ROMÂNIEI 10.000", followed by the indications "GUVERNATOR CASIER CENTRAL" and "10.000 lei ZECE MII". The year of issue, "2000", is also inscribed, as well as the repeated face value, "ZECE MII", and the name of the historian "NICOLAE IORGA 1871-1940". A legal notice warns that counterfeiting these banknotes is punishable according to law.
The back of the banknote depicts the church of Curtea de Arge?. This architectural representation is the central element of the design. The banknote is identified by the letter "D".
