Banknote Romania 10 Lei Nicolae Grigorescu - House - 2023 Serial 231H

The 10 Lei banknote issued by the Banca Na?ional? a României in 2023 is part of the 231H series. This banknote commemorates Nicolae Grigorescu, an emblematic figure in Romanian painting. The banknote is 135 mm long and 72 mm wide.

The front of the banknote features a dominant blue and yellow color scheme on a background printed in pink and multicolored shades. The portrait of Nicolae Grigorescu is positioned on the right, while a brush and a flower are depicted in the center. The inscriptions include the name of the issuing bank, the face value of 10 Lei, the date of issue January 1, 2018, the mentions of the governor and the central cashier, as well as the years of birth and death of Nicolae Grigorescu (1836-1907). All texts are written in the Latin alphabet.

The back of the banknote features a background printed in pink and various colors. A typical house from the Oltenia region is illustrated in the center. On the left, a peasant woman carrying a basket on her shoulder is depicted, it is a fragment of Grigorescu's work "Rodica". The inscriptions repeat the name of the issuing bank and the face value, accompanied by a warning regarding the counterfeiting of banknotes, in accordance with the laws in force, all in the Latin alphabet.

The banknote's watermark reveals the portrait of Nicolae Grigorescu as well as the monogram logo of the Banca Na?ional? a României (BNR). This banknote was printed by the printing house of the National Bank of Romania.
