Description
Issued in 2026 to commemorate the FIFA World Cup, jointly hosted by Mexico, the United States and Canada, this commemorative 20 Pesos coin celebrates Guadalajara, one of the Mexican cities hosting the tournament.
The reverse combines the world of football with the identity of Guadalajara. It features a goalkeeper making a save, alongside the Glorieta de La Minerva, an iconic landmark of the capital of the State of Jalisco.
The design also incorporates security features, including a latent image and microtext, characteristic of contemporary Mexican 20 Pesos coins.
The obverse displays the national coat of arms of Mexico, depicting the eagle holding a serpent in its beak and talon, surrounded by the legend "ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS".
The coin features a 12-sided dodecagonal shape. It is bimetallic, with a silver-coloured centre and a gold-coloured outer ring.
This coin is presented in a Guadalajara Coincard, allowing the coin to be displayed and preserved in its dedicated holder.
