Issued in 2026 to commemorate the FIFA World Cup, jointly hosted by Mexico, the United States and Canada, this commemorative 20 Pesos coin celebrates Mexico City, one of the Mexican host cities of the tournament.

The reverse features a football player in action alongside one of the iconic landmarks of the Mexican capital, the Angel of Independence. This composition links football to the identity of Mexico City.

The design also incorporates security features, including a latent image and microtext, characteristic of contemporary Mexican 20 Pesos coins.
