The face value of 500 is indicated in numbers on the left and in letters, QUINIENTOS SOLES DE ORO, in the upper right. The serial numbers, printed in red with a two-letter prefix, are located in the upper left and lower right.
The back of the banknote depicts a logging scene on a riverbank. The name of the issuer, Banco Central de Reserva del Perú, is inscribed at the top. The face value of 500 is repeated in numbers in the two right corners. The value in letters, QUINIENTOS SOLES DE ORO, is visible in the lower left. The issue date, 22 DE JULIO DE 1976, appears on the left edge.
