This commemorative 1 sol coin, struck in nickel-brass, is issued by the Central Reserve Bank of Peru in 2025. It weighs 7.32 grams and has a diameter of 25.5 millimeters.
The obverse of the coin features the coat of arms of Peru, surrounded by the designation of the issuing institution, "BANCO CENTRAL DE RESERVA DEL PERÚ". The year of issue, "2025", appears below the coat of arms. An eight-sided polygonal pattern is present on the rim, adorning the edge of the coin.
The reverse showcases a ceramic from the Vicús culture, illustrating a geometric pattern composed of vertical lines on the right side. The Mint mark is discreetly placed in the center of the composition. The nominal value of "1 SOL" is inscribed in numerals and letters in the lower part. The name of the series, "CERÁMICA PRECOLOMBINA", is positioned on the left, while the mention of the culture, "CULTURA VICÚS", appears at the top.
The edge of the coin is reeded. Felipe Escalante Chuñocca is credited as the engraver of this coin.
