The 20 Francs banknote from New Hebrides, dating from 1945, features a green-colored obverse. It shows a woman wearing a crown on the left, a boat in the center, and a native fisherman on the right. A distinctive red oval overprint bears the inscription "NOUVELLES HÉBRIDES FRANCE LIBRE" accompanied by palm leaves and a Cross of Lorraine. This overprint is applied to a New Caledonia banknote referenced P-49.
The inscriptions "BANQUE DE L'INDOCHINE", "VINGT FRANCS", and "NOUMÉA" are also present, as is the nominal value "20".
The reverse of the banknote is two-tone, green and yellow. The central motif is a native mask.
The banknote measures 162 mm in length and 64 mm in width.
