This banknote was issued by Nepal in 2017. Its face value is 5 Rupees. Its dimensions are 120 millimeters in length and 70 millimeters in width.
The obverse of the banknote features several distinct graphic elements. There is a representation of Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the world, located in the Himalayas. A drawing of the Kastamandap Temple, an ancient Hindu temple located in Kathmandu, is also featured on this side of the banknote. In addition, a watermark window is integrated into the obverse of the banknote.
The reverse of the banknote includes a watermark window identical to that of the obverse. The iconography of the reverse depicts a wild Yak, a bovine species living in the mountainous regions of the Himalayas. In the background, you can see the Limi Himal of Humla, a mountain range part of the Nepalese Himalayas.
The banknote's watermark represents rhododendron flowers. The rhododendron is the national flower of Nepal, which explains its presence in the watermark of this banknote.
