The 10 Rupee banknote from Nepal, issued in 2020, features distinct visual characteristics on both sides.
On the front, the banknote highlights Mount Everest, the world's highest mountain, symbolizing Nepal's geography and national pride. It also includes a representation of Changunarayan, a manifestation of Vishnu, riding Garuda, a mythological creature half-man, half-bird. A "Window" type watermark is incorporated into the design, adding a security measure and an aesthetic element. The inscription "10" appears in Nepali on the top left and in English on the top right. The mention "NEPAL RASTRA BANK" is printed, identifying the issuing institution. The face value, "RUPEES TEN", is indicated in English. The issue date is written in English at the bottom of the banknote.
On the back, the banknote incorporates an additional watermark window. A black shield is present, as well as the logo of the Nepal Rastra Bank placed at the top. The main watermark represents rhododendron flowers, an important floral symbol for Nepal. These flowers are emblematic of the country's mountainous landscapes.
The banknote's dimensions are 133 mm in length and 70 mm in width. These standard dimensions facilitate its handling and storage. The overall design of the banknote combines natural and cultural elements, reflecting Nepal's identity.
