This 50 Kyats banknote, issued by the Central Bank of Myanmar, belongs to the FY series from the period 1977-1997, with the year of issue specified as 1997. Its dimensions are 145 mm in length and 70 mm in width.
The obverse of the banknote features a Chinthe, a mythical lion-like creature, as the central graphic element. It also includes the inscription in Burmese "????????????????????????", which means Central Bank of Myanmar. The face value of "50" is indicated in Arabic numerals and in Burmese script "??????????" (fifty kyats).
On the reverse, the banknote depicts an artisan working with lacquerware, a traditional Myanmar craft. The inscriptions in English include "CENTRAL BANK OF MYANMAR" as well as the face value "50" and "FIFTY KYATS".
The watermark of the banknote reproduces the motif of the Chinthe, accompanied by the face value.
