This banknote is issued by Mongolia, with a face value of 500 tugrik. It dates from the year 2020 and belongs to an unspecified series. Its dimensions are 145 mm in length and 70 mm in width.
The front of the note features a portrait of Chingis Khaan, also known as Temüjin, who lived approximately from 1162 to 1227. There is also a representation of a Paiza (Gerege), which was a tablet of authority used by Mongolian officials and envoys. This device allowed Mongolian nobles and officials to demand goods and services from the civilian population. The national coat of arms of Mongolia is also present on this side.
The inscriptions on the front are written in Mongolian (folded script) and Manchurian. It shows the face value of the note, 500, as well as the name of the issuing institution, the Bank of Mongolia (?????? ?????), and the mention of five hundred tugrik (????? ????? ???????).
The back of the note illustrates a scene representing the construction and delivery of a ger, or yurt, a traditional Mongolian dwelling. The banknote's watermark reproduces the portrait of Chingis Khaan, thus ensuring a security measure against counterfeiting.
