Banknote Mexico 20 Pesos - 200 years of independence - Polymer - 2022 - CH series

This commemorative banknote, issued in 2022, celebrates the 200th anniversary of Mexico's independence. With a face value of 20 pesos, it is made of polymer and is part of the CH series.

The banknote measures 120 mm long and 65 mm wide. Its weight is one gram.

On the obverse, there is a fragment of a certified anonymous artwork entitled "Solemn and peaceful entry of the Army of the Three Guarantees into Mexico City on September 27 of the memorable year 1821". To the left of this historical scene flies the flag of the Army of the Three Guarantees, while to the right, the current flag of Mexico is depicted. The words "Veinte Pesos" indicate the face value of the banknote.

The reverse of the banknote highlights the mangrove ecosystem, illustrated by the Mexican crocodile (Crocodylus moreletii) and the roseate spoonbill (Platalea ajaja). This representation is located in the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve, a World Natural Heritage site located in the State of Quintana Roo.
