This Malaysian banknote, with a face value of 5 ringgits, was issued in 2012.
The obverse of the note features Tuanku Abdul Rahman, the first Head of State of Malaysia, accompanied by the hibiscus, the country's national flower. Songket patterns, a traditional Malay fabric, are also present. It should be noted that banknotes from lower series may have brighter colors, suggesting a possible printing variation.
On the reverse, we find the logo of the Central Bank of Malaysia, representing the Kijang Emas, a Malaysian barking deer (Muntiacus muntjak). The illustration also includes rhinoceros hornbill birds (Buceros rhinoceros), an iconic species of Malaysian fauna.
This banknote is made of polymer, a durable and counterfeit-resistant material. Its dimensions are 135 mm in length and 65 mm in width.
This banknote is a testament to the history and culture of Malaysia, while incorporating modern security features thanks to its manufacturing material.
