This Madagascar banknote, with a face value of 5 francs, was issued between 1926 and 1947. It belongs to the P.3199 series.
On the front, there is a portrait of Juno inserted in a large medallion, positioned on the left of the vignette. The whole is framed by friezes of stylized fleur-de-lis. The inscriptions "BAQUE DE MADAGASCAR" and "CINQ FRANCS" are present. The names of L.LECLERC and E. DELOCHE also appear. Ernest Deloche is identified as the engraver, while Léon Leclerc is designated as the designer. The writing used is Latin. The dimensions of the banknote are 125 × 80 mm.
On the back, the background pattern is composed of stylized fleur-de-lis. A large red number "5" is visible on the left, while article 139 of the penal code, also in red, is inscribed on the right. The writing used is Latin.
