This banknote from Madagascar, with a face value of 20 francs, was issued between 1928 and 1953. It belongs to series W.418.
The front of the banknote features, on the right, a representation of a French woman holding the hand of a Malagasy woman, the latter carrying a child in her right arm. A round cartouche is visible on the left, intended to house the watermark. The entire vignette is embellished with friezes and various ornamental motifs.
The script used on the banknote is Latin. The following inscriptions can be read: "Banque de Madagascar", "vingt francs" and "IMP. CHAIX. PARIS".
The dimensions of the banknote are 140 mm in length and 92 mm in width. Its weight is one gram.
On the back, we observe the head of a man represented in three-quarters view, inserted in a medallion positioned on the left. On the right, a medallion similar in shape to the one on the left is present, intended to receive the watermark.
